Environmental design
Tange Associates (Paul Noritaka Tange, CEO) and GLAMOROUS Co., Ltd. (Yasumichi Morita, President and Representative Director), who were responsible for the environmental design of the renovated Isetan Shinjuku Store, shared architectural and design oversight for The Japan Store. They did away with the orthodox department store model, instead creating pavilions on each floor evoking traditional Japanese gardens in which selected products are featured.
