Japanese fineness and delicacy is the key to KIJIMA TAKAYUKI’s hat collection. Started his own label in 2004, after leaving coeur which he founded in 1995, his simple yet unorthodox hat design merges vintage inspired feeling and sporty modernity got credited by top Japanese designers such as Undercover, Takahiromiyashita The Soloist, Arts&Science. The hats all hand made by Japanese artisans are surprisingly soft and functional, and they perform as a great comprimario to what you wear. Our strong push from the label this season is these hats made of paper. Beautifully colored, soft texture to the touch, they will best perform in the climate in KL throughout the year.
- Kijima worked for five years for Akio Hirata, a renowned hat designer who studied haute mode technique in Paris and had been designing for designers such as Comme des Garçons and Yohji Yamamoto. Launched his first label coeur in 1995 but in order to further explore the possibility, Kijima left the brand and found a line under his name in 2013.
